Teniers, David II 1610 Antwerpen -1690 Brüssel Umkreis oder Nachfolge. Eine Wirtshausszene. Öl auf Leinwand. Drei Männer sitzen um ein Fass, auf dem eine Glutschale steht, an welcher sich einer der drei seine Pfeife anzündet. Der zweite blickt griesgrämig in den leeren Raum, neben ihm auf der Bank liegt ein Stück Papier. Der dritte schaut sich das Geschehen zurückgelehnt auf seinem Stuhl an, in seiner Hand ein Krug. Es sind deutliche Übereinstimmungen mit Teniers in Physiognomie und Kleidung der Personen zu erkennen. Auch das Interieur, das Fass, die Glutschale und den Krug, findet man in anderen Gemälden von Teniers. Eine Blaulichtuntersuchung zeigt wenig Übermalungen. Größe ca. 43 x 57,5 cm, Rahmen ca. 60 x 76 cm. Wohl frühe Rentoilierung und spätere Wachsdoublierung aus dem 19. Jh. Minimal Craquelé. Three men are sitting around a barrel, on which a glass bowl stands, on which one of the three is lighting his pipe. The second looks sullenly into the empty room, next to him on the bench lies a piece of paper. The third is leaning back in his chair, a jug in his hand. There are clear similarities with Teniers in the physiognomy and clothing of the persons. The interior, the barrel, the glass bowl and the jug, are also found in other paintings by Teniers. A blue light examination shows little overpainting. Size approx. 43 x 57.5 cm, frame approx. 60 x 76 cm. Probably early rentoiling and later wax doubling from the 19th century. Minimal craquelé.
